Emarketing:Is Your Website is Good Enough to Generate Revenue For Your Business

When was the last time, you visited a website, and instantly fell in love with the presentation of information and the overall professional feel of the site? And if you are a business owner with a website, have you ever wondered, what your customers would feel about your website.

Is your website good enough? Does it have what it takes, to generate enquiries and attract prospective customers to keep them coming back for again and again? Is your website good enough, for search engines, and does it displays prominently when visitors search for your products? Read on if you are not sure of the answers

Prospects, who ultimately become customers, need to be shown that you care about them, even in the virtual world. In the real world, if you own a store with no proper lighting, located in the 4th floor of a rickety old building, that has not even have a decent stairway leave alone a elevator – what are the chances of your business doing well? Zero! This goes for the virtual world as well. If you had a website that loads very slowly, with spelling mistakes in your homepage content, a Flash animation that takes 3 minutes to load or content that has all the colors of the rainbow with text size that is good enough for the visually challenged. Your website visitor has had enough, and heads for the 'X' button in the browser to junk your site and moves on to your competitors. So you lost a customer and your competitor gets a new customer or new business deal. In this digital era your web site reflects the quality or services of your company. A poorly designed and outdated web site can never bring a new customer to your business.

I want to ask a few simple questions to all site owners. What is the main purpose to make a web site or why do you make a website for your business? What is your ultimate goal for making a web site? Probably these can be your answers

(a) To give information about my product or services, to tell about my company history, achievements etc

(b) To give address, contact no., e mail of my company

(c) Because my competitor has a web site or better still – everyone and his dog has a website so why not me.

Last answer may sound funny, but you can't believe I got this answer from a lot of business owners who have a website.

I was surprised to know that some companies don't even bother to visit their own site after it is launched. Again coming back to the questions I had asked let's take answer a) - here i am in total agreement. A site must talk about the company products, services, achievements. Even answer b) is also a good reason for have a site, since your web site is the best place to share your address, contact numbers, e-mail etc. If we decide to club all the 3 reasons above, then it still does not do anything substantial to make a difference to your business. If are in the business to earn revenue through new customers and keeping existing ones happy. You don't make money for your business by just sharing contact information or product information. You have to do a lot more than that to keep your competition at bay, and attract more and more customers. But is your web site good enough to generate revenues. What are the things that should be in a good web site? The web site you have designed 5 years ago – is it really making the mark or it time you decide to junk it. If you are not sure, then it is time you did the following:

- Hire a good web consultant

- Can take a service of a good web designing or web development firm.

- Can take the help of Web marketing, Internet marketing, SEO company

It would be better if you take the service of a company which offers all these services. Choosing a good company is also important task, before choosing a company, just check the following things

How old the company is, total year of experience a company have in their respective field

Check their portfolio, check how many projects company have completed in past years

After finalizing the company, you can discuss about the your business, what's the problem with your current site and can take their suggestion about the business promotion. A good web company understands the need of the hour and their tips and techniques definitely help you in generating the online revenue for your site.
